March 20 Day Trip: CANCELLED due to weather PDF Print E-mail

3/20/2010 - Unfortunately, due to the amount of snow and icy conditions in the area, this trip has been cancelled.

 Our March Day Trip will be Saturday, March 20, to Mountainair, the Quarai Ruins, and the Abo Ruins, part of the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument.



We will leave at 9:30 AM from the Smith's Grocery parking lot on Tramway & Central. We will head east to Tijeras on Old Rt. 66, and go south via Old 14 to our first stop at Quarai Ruins, about 8 miles north of Mountainair. We will have lunch at the Shaffer Hotel (separate checks OK). After lunch, we will head west out of Mountainair to the Abo Ruins. The exact return route has not yet been determined, but most likely be on the county roads back into Belen, to avoid as much of I-25 as possible.

For lunch planning, Ken will need some idea of who all is planning on attending, so please RSVP with him.
